Temporary artworks

In a major city like Düsseldorf, they are part of the cityscape, towering construction cranes. Heavy components and machines move to lofty heights above the construction sites. Iron mats and iron bars float silently, seemingly aimlessly. They linger for a for a while, transform into temporary works of art and then disappear into the building for an eternity. I visited numerous construction sites over many months, stayed there until I discovered an adequate motif, often in vain. Through the minimalist representation, the eye of the viewer is directed to the essentials, to works of art in transition
