I live in a neighbouring city of Düsseldorf (Germany) and since 2011 I am working intensively with photography. With my camera I am particularly looking for the "special in the everyday”. Structures, shapes and colors in urban space are my preferred subjects. In a minimalist, reduced manner, I try to direct the view to the essential. Frontal perspective, no disturbing backgrounds and the focus solely on the motif are often seen in my works. I often additionally emphasizes the minimalism of my works by underlaying them with grey tones, nothing should distract the viewer from the subject.
In contrast to my minimalist images, I sometimes make an excursion into the creation of large-format, colourful collages. In doing so, I bring together numerous individual photos of the same motif, as in the creation of my series "Waste Art". In my image compositions of swimmers and marathon runners I demonstrate the creation of a constructed reality from a perspective that is unusual for the viewer
Numerous of my pictures have been awarded national and international photography prizes. The two-time success at the SONY WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS is to be emphasized. There, my works "Every breath you take" and "The blue window" were awarded as one of ten category winners in the Open Competition in 2018 and 2021, respectively, among 160,000 entries each. In my first participation in the Professional Competition of the SONY WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS 2023, my series" Temporary Artworks" was shortlisted.

My works has been exhibited in group exhibitions at venues such as
Somerset House London, at the Aperture Gallery New York and at the Willy-Brandt-Haus Berlin.
In the context of my  first solo exhibition from 09.06.-02.09.2022 more than 70 of my work swere presented  in the rooms of the Higher Regional Court Düsseldorf.

On 16.10.2023  my second solo exhibition was opened with a vernissage  in the rooms of the "Amts- und Landgericht" (local and regional court)   Düsseldorf.  80 of my works are shown there until 10.03.2024

 

 

 

Ich lebe in Ratingen, einer Nachbarstadt von Düsseldorf und befasse mich seit 2011 intensiv mit Fotografie. Ich  suche mit seiner Kamera insbesondere das „Besondere im Alltäglichen“. Strukturen, Formen und Farben im urbanen Raum sind mein bevorzugtes Thema. In minimalistischer, reduzierter Weise versuche ich den Blick auf das Wesentliche zu lenken. Frontalperspektive, keine störenden Hintergründe und die Fokussierung allein auf das Motiv sind in meinen Werken häufig zu sehen. Den Minimalismus meiner Werke betonte ich dabei oft zusätzlich durch Unterlegung mit Grautönen, nichts soll den Betrachter vom Motiv ablenken.

 Im Kontrast zu meinen minimalistischen Bildern mache ich zuweilen einen Ausflug in die Gestaltung von großformatigen, farbenfreudigen Collagen. Dabei führe ich zahlreiche Einzelfotos vom selben Motiv zusammen, wie bei der Kreation meiner Serie "Waste Art". Die Schaffung einer konstruierten Realität aus einer für den Betrachter ungewohnten Perspektive zeige ich bei meinen Bildkompositionen von Schwimmern und Marathonläufern

 

Zahlreiche meiner Bilder wurden mit nationalen und internationalen Fotopreisen ausgezeichnet. Hervorzuheben ist der zweimalige Erfolg bei den SONY WORLD PHOTGRAPHY AWARDS. Dort wurden meine Werke "Every breath you take" bzw. "The blue window" 2018 und 2021 unter jeweils 160.000 Einreichungen als einer von zehn Kategoriegewinner in der Open Competition ausgezeichnet. Meine Arbeiten wurden im Rahmen von Gruppenausstellungen u.a.  im Somerset House London, in der Aperture Gallery New York , der KLOMPCHING GALLERY Brooklyn sowie im Willy-Brandt-Haus Berlin ausgestellt.

 

 

 

In Rahmen meiner ersten Solo-Ausstellung wurden vom 09.06.-02.09.2022 über 70 meiner Werke in den Räumen des Oberlandesgerichts Düsseldorf präsentiert.

Am 17.10.2023 hat meine zweite Solo-Ausstellung im Amts- und Landgericht begonnen. Bis zum 10.03.2024 zeige ich dort 80 meiner Fotos.
